Our Private Investigation Department has been in operation since the inception of the company.
Private investigations play a leading and vital role for many people, companies or organisations. More people are engaging private investigators to solve their cases.
In most cases, whether matrimonial, commercial, scams, the evidence gathered can be used in court. Safeguard has a team of investigators who are committed, hardworking and have a passion for surveillance and investigation work. The investigation team consists of specially selected personnel who have a previous track record of investigations and law enforcement techniques. They are knowledgeable and specialise in conducting investigations through photographic and video recording evidence collated discreetly.
We undertake all types of investigations, locally and overseas. Our investigators also work in collaborations with other fellow investigators overseas.
Some types of cases handled by Safeguard are:
In association with the Council of International Investigators, we are able to extend our connection overseas. We are proud that we have extended our investigations on a regional basis. We provide crime-scene investigation (CSI) services, such as fingerprint identification and photographic evidence. We have also assisted several law firms in their cases by bringing about photographic evidence to prove their cases.
The private investigation unit comes directly under the supervision and directions by the managing director. Our managing director was presented the ‘Merlion Investigator Award in 2006 by the Security Association, Singapore(SAS)’.
We have solved many cases over the years, some of the cases highlighted here the extent of our private investigation, which is more complex and challenging.
Another interesting case was on software piracy. A well-known software company employed many foreign professionals with IT knowledge under the employment pass. The leading company found business was slow after some time and realized that their software was pirated and sold cheaply in the open market. They believed their staff were involved and the directors engaged our private investigation service.
Our team worked long hours and narrowed about four foreign workers under employment pass as the potential ‘targets’ involved. The team arranged a travel agent from another country to speak to the identified staff and tried to buy the ‘travel agency software’. The employees of the company were convinced as the call, email and person was from overseas.
We paid for the air ticket, hotel and other costs to our ‘source’ to buy the software. The company’s staff sold the ‘travel agent’ software, which was recorded on cameras with audio in the hotel room. The pirated software was given to our ‘source’ who paid the money in cash. Thus we managed to get all four employees involved in the sale of pirated software.
In the course of the investigation, we also identified a company with an identical name registered in another shopping area. This shop was also linked to the group working for the software company. Our client appreciated our professional service in solving their business-loss matter.
A logistics company in Changi South found many iPads and laptops missing from their store. They suspected their store staff and delivery staff may be involved.
We met and discussed. They engaged our services at an agreed fee. We told them to employ one of our staff as their ‘store assistant’. As advised our staff was employed directly by the company and received an appointment letter. The staff was paid directly by the company. At the same time, he would feedback to us frequently who and how these items were syphoned out from the warehouse.
Our staff at the store gave us clear inputs on this matter and identified the staff and delivery truck. After three weeks of investigation and surveillance, we managed to track the staff involved, delivery lorry and the location the items one delivered.
We worked with the Singapore Police Service and managed to identify the culprit responsible for the theft and recovered the PC-related items at another industry building. A few of them were charged and convicted.
Some time ago,o a supermarket approached us with their loss of many seafood items like fish, prawns, squids etc.
We worked with the client and deployed a female to work as an assistant in the frozen goods area. She was employed and paid directly by our client. Similarly, the client engaged our private investigators to handle the case. After tedious work and with the assistance of our female operative, we managed to identify the missing seafood items that went missing on a daily basis and the person responsible for the losses.
The (modus operandi) was the staff in the supermarket will discard the fish, prawns, squids, etc. as ‘spoiled items’ and throw them out as rubbish. One or two guys in motorcycles would then pick up the so-called ‘spoiled items’. Thereafter the fish, prawns and squids were cooked and sold cheaply to customers by a seafood stall at a hawker centre.
The persons involved were identified and were sacked by the company. Again the proper planning and execution of our team managed to solve the missing seafood items.
Recently, a client reported her car went ‘missing’ after allowing a ‘friend’ to use the car.
The ‘friend’ was uncontactable and was not found at his residence.
The investigators trailed the ‘friend’ and finally managed to track him and some leads to recover the car, was identified.
We worked closely with the Singapore police force and managed to recover the car.
Our client was overwhelmed with joy and left Singapore to settle in Scotland with her husband.
